Wine Profile
Ratings
“The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is composed of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Merlot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it is a little closed to begin, soon unfurling to reveal well-defined scents of redcurrant jelly, warm cassis and boysenberries, plus suggestions of camphor, tilled soil and crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, restrained and refreshing in the mouth, it has a firm texture of ripe, grainy tannins and loads of mineral-laced, tightly wound black fruit layers, finishing with compelling energy.” — Robert Parker Wine Advocate, 96 Points
Awards
"Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon charges out of the gate with expressive notes of blueberry compote, creme de cassis, and kirsch, giving way to suggestions of bay leaves, garrigue, pencil shavings, and star anise. The full-bodied palate is so vivacious and giving, with generous black fruit, earth, and floral layers offset by firm, ripe, grainy tannins, finishing long and beautifully poised." — The Wine Independent, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, 96 Points
Vineyard Notes
"The 2019 Hertelendy Cabernet Sauvignon is a knockout of a wine. This begins to impress with its beautiful aromas of ripe black currants, blueberries, violets, pencil shavings, gravel, dark chocolate and earthy nuances which all take shape. On the palate this full-bodied cabernet is beautifully structured around big velvety tannins. It possesses a wonderful opulent mouthfeel that is laced with layers of ripe dark fruits and dark chocolate flavors that lead up to the long, beautifully polished finish which lingers effortlessly. While this is already fantastic in its youth, it should also age gracefully and become even more compelling over the next few years." — International Wine Report, 96 Points
