The 2020 Signature Mountain Blend consists of our ultra premium Rockwell Ridge estate vineyard (planted in 1993 at 1365 feet, 35 ft below the Howell Mountain AVA) in addition to Sugarloaf Vineyard in Coombsville, Atlas Peak, & Silverado Bench fruit. 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot, this limited case production is the closest wine in our program that could be called an “Estate wine” with most of the blend coming from our very own Rockwell Ridge estate vineyard (located 35 feet below the Howell Mountain AVA). Claimed by the critics as a “beautiful wine that “...explodes from the glass”, and dubbed by many over the years as “The Petrus of Napa Valley”, we are thrilled to get this wine from our Estate to yours. 137 cases produced.

“The 2020 Signature Mountain Blend is an incredibly expressive, full-throttle wine from Hertelendy. This powerful red bursts open with wonderful aromatics that showcase loads of ripe black cherries, blackberries and a hint of blueberry, which are joined by sweet exotic spices, sweet toasted oak, herbs, mocha, iron and hints of melted black licorice nuances. On the palate this is full-bodied and opulent, with dense layers of ripe dark and blue fruits that are underlined by a lovely touch of acidity providing a sense of freshness and balance. It shows incredible concentration, power and intensity all the way through the long supple finish. This is a massive, towering wine that is excellent today and will not require any cellaring. Despite the difficulties faced in 2020, the Signature Mountain Blend from Hertelendy didn't miss a beat, and enthusiasts looking for a big time Napa Valley wine from the vintage should seek this out.” — International Wine Report, 96 Points
