2022 Woolsey Road Vineyard Chardonnay

2022 Woolsey Road Vineyard Chardonnay
95 Points International Wine Report

A golden gem from the legendary Russian River Valley — bold, tropical, and irresistibly refined.

The 2022 Woolsey Road Chardonnay showcases ultra-premium fruit from 50+ year old Old Wente vines. Grown in sandy gold loam, this full-bodied stunner bursts with creamy Maui pineapple, white peaches, quince, and jasmine and chamomile tea — all balanced by coastal minerality and bright acidity. Crafted with native yeast, bâtonnage sur lies, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it finishes long with rich crème brûlée decadence. Chill it down until the lions change color, decant it briefly — then sip, savor, and enjoy perfection. Only 89 cases were produced, so be sure to acquire your allocation before it’s all gone!

Tasting Notes
"The 2022 Woolsey Road Vineyard Chardonnay is absolutely delicious. It instantly begins to impress as it opens with a bouquet of Asian Pears, baked pineapples, tropical fruits, honeysuckle, crème brûlée, and vibrant citrus blossoms, each note coming together in perfect harmony. On the palate, this wine reveals a luxurious texture, beautifully complemented by a refreshing streak of acidity that maintains balance and freshness from start to finish. A truly delightful Chardonnay from Hertelendy that is already exceptional." — International Wine Report, 95 Points
Ratings
"The 2022 ‘Woolsey Road Vineyard’ is sourced from this site in the Russian River Valley. This is dense, unctuous and delicious stuff...saline drenched peaches combine with pie crust and shades of mango creme brûlée on the palate. Delicious now, enjoy over the next six plus years to come. Drink 2025-2031." — Owen Bargreen
